John Davenport, Ph.D., is a regional portfolio consultant for Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC. Davenport has nearly two decades of investment research, portfolio management and business development experience. He previously served as a regional vice president for RYDEX/SGI, specializing in educating financial advisers in alternative investments. He also served as director of research for a Virginia-based investment adviser as well as senior portfolio strategist for Wachovia Securities on their multi-billion-dollar mutual fund and separate account platforms.
He holds a B.S. from Appalachian State University, an MBA from Averett University, and a Ph.D. from Regent University. Davenport has published numerous academic articles related to investment management and organizational leadership. He is also an adjunct professor and frequent speaker on investment-related topics.
