The presentation will discuss elder law in general. In particular, Charles will explain the benefits and detriments of a will and a trust, trust preparation and what must be done by the trustee and their alternate trustees when the need occurs. He will discuss the preparation of and reasons for a durable power of attorney; incapacity requiring nursing home care and the expenses and alternatives for paying these expenses; what happens when a will or trust does not exist; alternatives to trusts and wills (POD or ATF accounts payable upon demise); and various methods of transferring title to real property.
