Our holiday program will focus on charitable giving and investing in non-profits. The format will be different from our usual pattern of a speaker followed by a question and answer session. At our September event, we learned how to evaluate Bemis as an investment. In this program, following five-minute presentations from diverse non-profit representatives, our focus will turn to how to evaluate what we have heard the panel members present and how to perform due diligence before investing in whichever causes are important to us. Next, we will walk through how one can donate appreciated assets from portfolios designed to maximize tax benefits and give to your favorite organizations at no aftertax cost to you, the donor. Some worksheets will help each table review the constraints and conditions that might apply.
