The AAII Denver Chapter presents...
"Your 2011 Update on the World of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)"
Discussed by:

Did you know that there are now nearly 1,000 exchange-traded funds (ETFs)? That’s about twice the number that existed when we last examined them, in July 2008. Did you know that ETF assets total over $1 trillion (more than the total market values of Exxon, Wal-Mart, Google and AT&T combined)? Clearly, there’s a lot going on in the ETF world. Recent innovations have included exchange-traded notes, inverse and leveraged ETFs, and a few actively managed portfolios. ETFs have lower expense ratios than comparable index mutual funds, trade actively in the market all day long, and are useful for both long-term investors and traders. ETFs can be used for hedging, and inverse products can be bought in tax-sheltered accounts where shorting and margin are unavailable. There’s a great deal to become updated on, and our February 22 program will allow you that opportunity. Don’t miss it! And this would be a great time to introduce a friend or family member to AAII’s valuable educational events.
