What a great way to start off our 2012 season at the AAII Denver chapter! Tom Howard, Ph.D., has created a patented method of stock selection. A recently retired finance professor at the Reiman School of the University of Denver, Tom Howard is not your typical academic: he does not say “be passive and index”; he does not follow the efficient markets hypothesis; he actually has developed a method for beating the market by selecting individual stocks! Howard is now chief investment officer (CIO) of Athena Investment Research, a money manager and consultant to institutions.
