The AAII Northern New Jersey Chapter presents...

"The Quest for Alpha"

    Discussed by:

    Larry Swedroe
Principal and Director of Research, Buckingham Advisors; Founder and Director of Research, BAM Associates

Larry Swedroe will explain why markets are efficient, using data and academic research to show that it is extraordinarily difficult to outperform the market and why trying to do so is highly unlikely to be productive when expenses are taken into account. Swedroe presents examples of the winning strategies, focusing on asset allocation, fund construction, costs, tax efficiency and global diversification. He will show that not all exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are created equal, and he will discuss methods of evaluating ETFs.
