The financial markets are being driven by conditions in three global areas. In Europe, several countries face the unresolved problem of having insufficient capacity to pay for the welfare-state benefits they have promised their citizens. In China, due to credit restraints imposed several months ago, economic growth continues to slow. Finally, in the U.S., the economy is slowly recovering with businesses husbanding cash and banks gradually rebuilding their balance sheets through increased industrial and commercial lending. In this presentation, Ron Muhlenkamp will explore these three financial themes in detail and discuss their implications for investors.
