The AAII Charlotte Chapter presents...
"Risks in the Midst of a Muddle Through Environment"
Discussed by:
John M. Simms Jr., Ph.D., CFA
Chief Investment Officer, Piedmont Trust Company
Recovery from the recent recession has been quite weak compared to prior episodes. Some commentators have dubbed this the “muddle through” economy. Whatever it’s called, it’s not much fun. Massive policy stimulus has failed to deliver durable growth, but it has created more debt and inflated central bank balance sheets. The presentation will attempt to put the current economic environment into historical context to help investors identify and possibly hedge the risks that lurk behind ultra-low interest rates, competitive currency devaluation and a dysfunctional political class.
