The AAII Pittsburgh Chapter presents...
"Demystifying the Federal Reserve "
Discussed by:
Marvin Goodfriend
Professor of Economics, Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University
Marvin Goodfriend, former member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will introduce investors to the usually unseen world of the Federal Reserve system. He will describe the organization’s general operations and indicate why individual investors should pay attention to Fed activities. He will also explain the role of the “Shadow Open Market Committee,” of which he is a member, and how the committee evaluates, monitors and publicizes Fed activities. Goodfriend worked directly under Alan Greenspan for many years and will share an insider’s view of the motives and goals of the United States’ central bank and its appointees.
