"Buffett and Beyond: The Predictability and Comparability of Buffett’s Stock Selection Methodology"

This presentation will discuss a stock selection method used by the greatest investor of all time. Clean Surplus was developed by the accounting profession a very long time ago in order to aid investors in determining the predictability of the future earnings (net income) of a company. This method is used by Warren Buffett, but had never been statistically tested until Belmonte’s doctoral dissertation, published in 2002. This presentation will cover the beginnings of this methodology, the academic research, a nine-year track record of a portfolio following the original research method and, finally, how the average person can use this method to enhance their own portfolio.
