"Building a Multi-Asset, Low-Correlation Portfolio"

In this presentation, Craig Israelsen will look at historical data to examine the growth and loss potential of various portfolios during the build-up phase (prior to retirement) and the draw-down phase (post-retirement). The impact of adjustments and rebalancing will also be evaluated over multiple time periods. Additionally, Israelsen will examine the pros and cons of utilizing alternative asset classes in portfolio design and give an overview of his 7Twelve Portfolio multi-asset balanced model. After the event, he will participate in a Q&A session and sign copies of his book.

"Investment Education Workshop: 2014 Dos and Don’ts: Top Tips and Resources for a Financially Secure Year"

According to the FINRA Investor Education Foundation’s Financial Capability Survey, only one in six adults reported being satisfied with their current financial condition. This workshop will show you how you stack up with national and state peers when it comes to saving, borrowing, planning for the future and making financial decisions. Peter Chandler will also discuss what he believes are some of the most important investing dos and don’ts for 2014, and will give a hands-on tour of FINRA resources and tools that are now available to assist investors in making sound financial decisions. Chandler will be giving out free copies of FINRA investor kits during the workshop.

Meetings cover a variety of current investment and financial topics, contoured to the desires of the group’s members and meeting attendees. The meetings consist of both local professional speakers and active member participation, creating an educational and enjoyable environment for all involved. The full spectrum of common stocks is covered with discussion of financial analysis, markets, etc. All approaches and levels of experience welcome.
