ChartNexus

ChartNexus is a powerful stock charting software that offers a high level of sophistication. While testing this program, we were impressed with the amount of raw data provided and the number of technical indicators offered. End-of-day data and three years of historical data are available to users free of charge.
After installing the file, you will be prompted to choose the indexes for which you want data downloaded. Numerous U.S. and world indexes are available. The download process will take some time, especially if you download data from all the available indexes, so your best bet is to start the download process and leave it running (you can hide the download window).
After the indexes have been downloaded, a list on the left-hand side will be populated with all the companies and world indexes available for charting. The list is broken down by category and alphabetically. Double-clicking on a company or index will bring up its chart.
Charts are shown in either line, bar or candlestick form and can be expanded to show a longer period of time or contracted to show a shorter period of time. Any number of charts can be pulled up simultaneously. The chart comparison tool can be used to compare stocks against their index, stocks against other stocks, or index against index. The program also comes loaded with approximately 30 indicators, each of which can be overlaid on the chart. You can choose to overlay as many indicators as you want, making it simple to perform technical analysis using several indicators. Furthermore, the program contains a watchlist to monitor stocks of interest and a portfolio manager to monitor trades. Brokerage fee and spread calculators are also available.
In addition to technical indicators, the program allows you to overlay the Fibonacci retracement for a select time frame on each chart. Tools to draw your own trendlines or markings and a section for notes are also provided. Each chart can be saved for later use, printed or exported as a portable network graphic (.PNG) file.
Overall, ChartNexus provides superb charting capabilities and a wealth of technical indicators. The program includes a comprehensive list of stocks and indexes. More impressively, the software is able to offer all these features free of charge.
