ChartSmart was added to the Download Library at the end of 2007. The program is very useful to investors, combining both technical and fundamental analysis. In addition, the program offers a stock screening feature that covers almost 14,000 U.S. and Canadian stocks. After running a screen, you can sort through all the passing companies along with charts and fundamental data.
The beauty of this program is that it provides users with the ability to screen on both fundamental and technical criteria. For example, users can screen for stocks that are trading at a low price-earnings ratio, are high growth, and are breaking out of a downward trend. In addition, below the price and volume chart, line graphs are shown for operating revenue, cash, dividends and earnings. This feature makes it simple to see company trends. Furthermore, the charts have buttons that link to financial statements, earnings data, news stories and historical pricing information.
There are several preloaded screens that come with the program. Users are also able to create an unlimited number of portfolios and watchlists.
Numerous useful video tutorials are available on the ChartSmart website, which provides a great way for users to get started. A free 10-day trial is available, and the price of the program ranges from $34.88 per month to $51.36 per month, depending on the frequency of downloads and the number of computers on which the program will be installed.
