IndexUniverse.com defines itself as a source that covers product and market developments related to index funds, ETFs (exchange-traded funds), index derivatives (futures/options/swaps) and the sophisticated investment strategies that use these financial tools. By providing users with industry news, columns, research and features, IndexUniverse.com aims to supply the essential information investors will need to make informed decisions and choose appropriate financial products for their portfolios.

The home page of the site provides links to all the key components. Hot exchange-traded fund topics are displayed by headline. Articles about new ETFs keep investors up to date. Other topics talk about what ETF performance has looked like for the past month, or what volatility does to a portfolio.

From the home page, users can access Data Tools. This area includes an ETF finder that allows investors to search for ETFs by asset class, geography, category, focus or niche. It provides a way to find ETFs based on different criteria, as opposed to simply its holdings. The ETF Fund Flows tool provides a search bar where any ETF ticker symbol can be typed in. The user must specify the start and end dates for which they want the fund flow information. After the search is completed, investors can see the net inflows and outflows for the specified period and view a chart displaying fund flow throughout the period.

The site provides access to weekly and monthly ETF flows, and daily and weekly best and worst performers. The Asset Class section gives a breakdown of different types of ETFs and provides articles for each, such as U.S. equity ETFs and commodity ETFs. Other sections include analyst blogs, interviews and podcasts.

IndexUniverse.com delivers information regarding upcoming conferences or webinars as well. Users can register for both online. IndexUniverse.com provides publications in addition to the content displayed on the website. These publications can be downloaded directly from the website and cover topics such as what drives the market performance of specific funds, new launches or sectors in review. Users can register for the website for free to receive emails based on their preferences.
