In early November, Interactive Data released Interactive Data Mobile, formerly known as QuoTrek. This mobile application complements the company’s suite of desktop and Web-based financial data solutions geared toward active investors and traders. With this app, which is available for free from the Apple iTunes Store, you can create your own portfolios and obtain detailed intraday data and charts, track market or stock-specific news, and monitor the overall market. There are two versions for the iPhone: a free version offering data on a delayed basis and a subscription-based version with real-time streaming data.

The app has five primary screens for viewing data: Markets, Watch List, Quotes with Charts and News, News, and Hotlist.

Watch List

Users can create up to five portfolios containing up to 40 symbols per portfolio.

Quotes with Charts and News

On this screen users can view detailed quotes, including the open, last, volume, previous, bid, ask, high, low and more. This screen also has a chart and news on a particular issue. Depending on your subscription level, you can view streaming quotes on either a real-time or a delayed basis. Interactive Data Mobile follows stocks, Treasuries, options, indexes, futures and forex from over 125 worldwide exchanges.

Interactive Data Mobile provides line, bar or candlestick charts. For plotting data, you can choose from a variety of intraday time intervals as well as daily, weekly and monthly charts. Finally, there are over a dozen technical indicators and overlays from which to choose.

News

The News screen displays news by category, including top stories, breaking news, economic news and more. Streaming news comes from such providers as PR Newswire, Business Wire and premium services such as Dow Jones. The news feature also has keyword and symbol search capabilities.

Hotlist

Interactive Data Mobile’s Hot Lists screen provides pre-set scans on equities and market indexes. Here you will also find market movers in several categories that are re-ranked every 30 seconds.
