I have been using trackballs (mostly Logitech) for 20 years, first on PC's, then on my iMac which I've had for four years.

When I bought the Mac, it came with the Apple mouse, which I immediately replaced with a wired trackball. After about 20 months of use it failed and Logitech replaced it with the wireless model. My only complaint is with the battery life, as it seems to need replacing on a monthly basis ( it uses 1 AA battery). My only other beef is with the size of the unit. Once when it failed, I was out of fresh batteries, so after talking to Logitech tech support, I plugged in my old PC trackball. My hand is not oversize but it seems to fit the old PC trackball better.

Kudos to Logitech support!

I recently bought the 570 and I like it better than the older wired version, which I have used for a couple years now -- better ergo and it has buttons for page up and down, which make browsing easier. I used to have wrist pain (with a typical mouse) and it disappeared with this trackball mouse. You can spend a lot for an ergo mouse, but this one is very reasonable and worked very well for me.
