Welcome to Computerized Investing’s “Best of the Web.” Here we have brought together what we consider to be the “best of the best” when it comes to online investment analysis, research and tracking. These are the sites that we editors and staff of CI use ourselves, almost on a daily basis.

The Internet has grown into an invaluable tool for investors, but for every quality website, there are dozens (if not more) that are only marginally useful. Here we provide you with the best online resources for data and analytical tools to help you make informed investment decisions. Beyond looking for sites that offer useful information, we try to find those that are easy to use and do not swamp you with ads. Whenever possible, we seek out websites that are free, though when subscriptions fees are charged, we clearly tell you. (Keep in mind that many websites offer both free and subscription-based content.)

Our primary criterion for analyzing a website is to consider whether it offers value for its visitors. There are a large number of websites with well-designed pages and lots of content, but that possess little that is unique enough to make them stand out from their peers. We pay a lot of attention to the quality of content and whether it is credible or not.

Our “Best of the Web” segment is broken down into several categories based on the kind of information you are looking for or the type of analysis you want to perform. Periodically we will be adding new categories and updating our featured sites as new offerings become available or sites change their content.

Within each category you will find that we have highlighted only a few sites. Instead of trying to be a “comprehensive” listing of financial websites, we focus on those quality few sites. In addition, in each category we crown one site our “Editors’ Choice” pick as the one that stands above all the rest. Computerized Investing awards its Editors’ Choice rating to sites that provide investment information or service that, in our view, is both useful and substantial to individual investors and available either for free or offer unique data, analytics or tools at a reasonable price.

Keep in mind that the Web is constantly evolving. Sites can change drastically in a short period of time. Be sure to verify the source of information or provider of a service. And read the fine print on pricing before agreeing to pay for any data or investment service.

Lastly, please remember that these selections are based on our opinions. We always welcome your input and suggestions. If there is a site that you use that you think deserves mention by Computerized Investing, send it to us.

What a wonderful service. As many of us know, there are so many 'experts' out there, most of whom only want to constantly have subscribers buy more & more useless investment info. Thanks and Aloha!
