YLoader 3.4
YLoader, a program offered by Tradery, allows users to download historical prices from several data providers. The program itself is very intuitive and does not take long to learn. After downloading, installing and opening the program, a window pops up with a list of stocks on the left. This is the default list of symbols for which the program will download historical prices. You are able to import symbols from a text (.txt) or comma-separated values (.csv) file, or you can also manually enter the symbols into the program before downloading. Be sure to select a data path and output file. When the prices are downloaded, the information is automatically exported into the folder you requested as a .csv file. The data in the output files include the date, high, low, open and close, but the output figures are not customizable. The program includes a section where you can customize the time range and price options. The time range goes to back to 1960 and the period can be set as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. The program also offers an option for dividend and split-adjusted prices. Normally, the data is downloaded very quickly, but if you are seeking historical prices for a long period of time and a large number of companies, the download process can be slow. Luckily, the program allows for a maximum of 20 separate simultaneous connections, allowing you to achieve very high downloading performance even with basic high-speed internet. Although the program provides no further analysis capabilities, it is one of the best for quickly downloading and exporting historical prices. YLoader is extremely easy to use while offering a large number of features.
