How do I login?

AAII gives you three ways you can login.

A. Click on the login button on the right hand corner of the webpage.
B. Click on the login button in the right hand side column.
C. Go to the AAII Login page

How do I customize my login information?

After you have logged into the AAII website you can customize your login by following these steps.
  • Go into your MY ACCOUNT page.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see a box entitled CONTACT INFORMATION
  • Look for the Customize Your Login section and follow the link.

How do I reset my login information?

In order to reset your login information you need to contact Member Services at (312) 676-4201.

How do I enable cookies for my web browser?

Enabling Cookies on Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0

  1. Click on Tools, then select Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab.
  3. In the Privacy section, under Settings, click on Advanced.
  4. In the Advanced Privacy Settings section, select the checkbox labeled Override Automatic Cookie Handling.
  5. Click OK.
  6. You should be back in the main Privacy sections where you clicked Advanced. Now click on Sites.
  7. In the field labeled Address of Web Site, type in www.aaii.com and then click the Allow button.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK in the main Privacy section to close the Internet Options box.

Enabling Cookies on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5

  1. Select Tools from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
  4. Click on the Custom Level button.
  5. Scroll down to the Cookies section.
  6. Make sure that Enable is selected under both "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" and "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)."
  7. Click OK.

Enabling Cookies on Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. Select Tools from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Internet Options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Go down to the Cookies section.
  5. Click Always Accept Cookies.
  6. Click OK .
  7. Click Apply to apply the change.
  8. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

Enabling Cookies on Firefox 13.0

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
  2. Select the Privacy panel.
  3. Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  4. Check mark Accept cookies from sites to enable cookies.
  5. Choose how long cookies are allowed to be stored
  6. Click OK to close the Options window.

Enabling Cookies on Firefox 3.0

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Privacy tab.
  4. The checkbox next to "Accept cookies from sites" can be left unchecked if you prefer, but AAII.com will still need to be added as an exception. Click on the "Exceptions" button.

    Note: If you do prefer to have the "Allow web sites to set cookies" check box selected, we also recommend that you untick the checkbox just to the left of where it says "Accept third-party cookies."

  5. Near the top of the Exceptions box, type in "aaii.com" in the field labeled "Address of web site." ("www" is not required.)
  6. After typing in aaii.com, you will now notice that the buttons just below that field are no longer grayed out and are now clickable. Click the "Allow" button. You should see aaii.com and the word Allow added to the site/status box. Click "OK" to close the Exceptions box.
  7. Click OK to close the Options box.

Enabling Cookies on Firefox 1.0, 2.0

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Privacy button in the left column.
  4. Find "Cookies" in the list of items and click on the plus sign [+] next to Cookies to expand and display the Cookies settings.
  5. The checkbox next to "Allow sites to set cookies" can be left unchecked if you prefer, but AAII.com will still need to be added as an exception. Click on the "Exceptions" button.

    Note: If you do prefer to have the "Allow web sites to set cookies" check box selected, we also recommend that you select the checkbox just below it where it says "From the originating web site only."

  6. Near the top of the Exceptions box, type in "aaii.com" in the field labeled "Address of web site." ("www" is not required.)
  7. After typing in aaii.com, you will now notice that the buttons just below that field are no longer grayed out and are now clickable. Click the "Allow" button. You should see aaii.com and the word Allow added to the site/status box. Click "OK" to close the Exceptions box.

  4. From the Cookies section, click to select Accept cookies from sites.
  5. Click OK to close the Options box.

Enabling Cookies on Netscape 8

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Site Controls button in the left column.
  4. Under the section labeled "Web Features" select the checkbox next to "Allow cookies" so that a checkmark appears (if it is currently unselected).
  5. Click OK to close the Options box.

Enabling Cookies on Netscape 6.x - 7.x

  1. Select Edit from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Preferences.
  3. On the Category menu on the left, click on on the arrow next to Advanced.
  4. Then, click on Privacy and Security. A drop-down menu appears from which you select Cookies. Make sure that the radio button next to Enable all cookies is selected.
  5. Click on OK at the bottom.

Enabling Cookies on Netscape Communicator / Navigator 4.x

NOTE: Since the 4.x versions of Netscape Communicator / Navigator are no longer compliant to current Web coding standards, we strongly suggest that you upgrade your Netscape browser to the most current version by going to www.netscape.com. You can find a link to the lastest browser in the left navigation bar under the "Tools" section.

  1. Close the Netscape browser.
  2. Click the Windows Start button, and select Search (or Find).
  3. Select Files or Folders.
  4. Search for cookie*.* on the local hard drive to find all cookie.txt or cookies.txt files.
  5. Delete these files.
  6. Close and relaunch your browser.

Enabling Cookies on America Online 9.0

  1. From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  2. Select Internet [Web] Options.
  3. Select Use your Internet Explorer Settings to set advanced browser options.
  4. Select the Privacy tab
  5. Select Advanced
  6. Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  7. Click OK to exit.

Enabling Cookies on America Online 8.0, 7.0 with IE 6.x

  1. From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Internet Properties (WWW)
  4. Select the Privacy tab
  5. Select Advanced
  6. Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  7. Click OK to exit.

Enabling Cookies on America Online 7.0 with IE 5.5

  1. From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Internet Properties (WWW)
  4. Select the Security tab
  5. Select the Custom Level tab
  6. Under "Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer" click "Enable"
  7. Under "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)" click "Enable"
  8. Select OK, Yes you want to save the settings

Enabling Cookies on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x for Mac (OS X)

  1. Click Explorer then select the Preferences submenu from the Internet Explorer top menu bar.
  2. In the menu on the left under Receiving Files choose the Cookies menu item.
  3. In the drop-down menu next to When Receiving Cookies select the option Never Ask.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Close and relaunch your browser.

Enabling Cookies on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x for Mac (OS 9)

  1. Choose Preferences from the main Edit menu.
  2. In the Category box (on the left) select Cookies under the Receiving Files heading.
  3. Select the Never Ask option from the drop-down menu
  4. Click OK.

Enabling Cookies on Safari 5.1 (Windows/OS X)

  1. Open Safari and click on the menu bar.
  2. Click on Preferences and security icons.
  3. Select the option Accept cookies:.
  4. Select the radio button that reads, “Only from sites you navigate to.
  5. Click OK to apply changes

Enabling Cookies on Safari 3.2 (Windows/OS X)

  1. Choose Edit from the top menu bar, then select Preferences.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Verify that either "Always" or "Only from sites you navigate to" is selected to the right of the words "Accept cookies:".
  4. Click OK.
  5. Close and relaunch your browser.

Enabling Cookies on Google Chrome 27+

  1. Click the "three bar" Chrome menu icon on the browser toolbar
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, click "Show advanced settings."
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click "Content settings."
  5. Select "Allow local data to be set (recommended)."
  6. Close the window.

Why doesn't My Portfolio save the stocks I add?

When adding stocks to My Portfolio on the website, the date needs to be entered in as the example shown.
mm/dd/yyyy should be entered as 01/01/2010.

What is a password hint?

For your security, we do not have access to the actual password once it has been entered into our system. We ask you to create a password hint in case you forget your password when customizing your login.

How do I unsubscribe from the newsletters I receive?

After you have logged into the AAII website you can unsubscribe from newletters by following these steps.
  • Go into your MY ACCOUNT page.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see a box entitled MY AAII E-NEWSLETTERS
  • Look for the UPDATE MY AAII E-NEWSLETTERS button and click on it.
  • From there you can choose which newsletters and announcements to subscribe to or unsubscribe from.

Why is it when I enter a ticker symbol in the "Enter ticker" on the home page it brings up GOOGLE?

In Firefox:
  1. Click on Tools, Options
  2. Click on the Privacy Tab
  3. Click on the drop down menu for "Firefox will:" and select "Use custom settings for history"
  4. Click Exceptions, and type "app.quotemedia.com" in the Address of web site field.
  5. Click Allow
  6. Click close, then click OK
