The AAII Los Angeles Chapter presents...

Alternative Investments: Past, Present, and Future

    Discussed by:
    James A. Hyerczyk
Market Strategist, Brewer Investment Group, LLC

This presentation covers how alternative investments (managed futures, Forex, ETFs and gold) have done in the past year: which ones appreciated the most and the least and which have the highest risk and the lowest. Attendees will learn how a portfolio diversified by different asset classes performed in 2008. The asset classes discussed will be cash, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments. The Sharpe ratios of these different portfolios will be presented so that the seminar attendees can judge the risk versus the return. Mr. Hyerczyk will analyze the past performance of the market and present a forecast for 2009 and how the different asset classes are expected to perform. Finally, there will be a discussion of how to make the appropriate percentage allocations for each asset class for conservative, average, and aggressive investors.
