What happens at Local Chapter meetings?

Local Chapters hold meetings either in the evening on a weeknight or on a Saturday morning lasting one to two hours. You can expect to meet other AAII members—this alone can be an educational experience as you share your enthusiasm for investing and discuss the speaker's presentation sharing your thoughts and ideas.
Each Chapter Meeting offers an investment education presentation by a speaker or panel on an investment-related topic. Many well-known investment experts have provided presentations at Local Chapter Meetings—this is an opportunity you, as an investor, would not otherwise be able to participate in.
At a chapter meeting you can learn how to:
  • Pick Winning Stocks
  • Become a Computerized Investor
  • Protect Your Portfolio
  • Profit From Small- & Mid-Cap Stocks
  • Select Mutual Funds
  • And Much, Much More!!
  • A Chapter Meeting allows time for members to ask questions of the speaker—further enhancing the educational experience of a Chapter Meeting by providing you an opportunity to get the answers you need.

Can I bring a guest or a family member to the Chapter Meeting?

Anyone is welcome to attend a chapter meeting. AAII's goal is to offer the very best investment education possible. Non-members are welcome to join AAII in order to receive announcements for future Chapter Meetings.

Is there a charge to attend a Chapter Meeting?

Usually there is a minimal charge per person to attend a chapter meeting. Charges are listed on the chapter meeting announcement and are intended to cover the cost of the meeting room, refreshments, or any other costs associated with holding the meeting. Most chapter meeting registration fees are between $10 and $25.

How do I find out when Chapter Meetings are being held?

As a member of AAII, you can request to have Chapter Meeting announcements sent to you by mail and/or E-mail. Click here to sign up to receive all future announcements for any chapters of your choice—it's Free with full AAII membership.

To view and print a chapter meeting announcement that includes a registration form, first locate the chapter nearest you from the list of all AAII Local Chapters (click here for the list). Once you have selected the chapter of your choice:

Who plans the Local Chapter meetings?

AAII members volunteer their time make all the necessary arrangements for each chapter meeting. Each chapter has a board comprised of Chapter Officers, Committee Chairpersons and Subgroup Leaders. These volunteers plan and implement each chapter meeting.

    What are Subgroups?

AAII Subgroups are small gatherings sponsored by local chapters where members meet for general discussion or to explore a specific investment topic of interest to the group. The group leader along with the subgroup members will work together to decide on the type of meetings the group will hold along with the topic the group will study.

Subgroup meeting details are included on the sponsoring chapter's meeting announcement.
