"The Dry, Wonky and Utterly Essential World of Financial Stability Analysis"
In this presentation, Stephen Ong will be reviewing the plans and activities of the new Office of Financial Stability created in the Treasury Department as part of the Dodd-Frank Act. He will describe how financial stability is measured and analyzed, how a bank’s risk level will be assessed in the future, how business cycle fluctuations influence bank profitability, and how profitability and financial stability are intertwined. For those wishing to read up in advance, the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank publication FOREFRONT, Fall 2013, contains an overview of this presentation.
