Welcome to Your
Essential Investing Course!
Welcome to AAII’s Essential Investing (EI) Course! We’re thrilled that you’ve taken this significant step toward mastering the foundational elements of investing. Your decision to enroll in this course marks the beginning of an exciting exploration into the world of investing, filled with learning and growth. The EI Course is designed to cater to your unique learning preferences, ensuring a personalized experience that aligns with your educational goals.
This email provides you with helpful resources, including the EI Course curriculum and how to get started. To begin, we encourage you to watch the welcome video from our lead analyst, Raymond A. Rondeau. This video will show you how to start the course, explore some of the advanced features and benefits built into the course and explain how to select the EI Course version that is right for you.
Before we jump into the how-tos, let me introduce myself: My name is Raymond Rondeau, and I am the lead developer of the EI Course, as well as an investment strategist and senior technical analyst at AAII.
I have been working with AAII for over a decade, lecturing and creating meaningful investing-related content and tools for individual investors. My primary passions are education, evidence-backed research and the development of efficient investing approaches and strategies to assist investors in today’s ever-evolving market environment.
My position with AAII has given me the opportunity to work with some of the top investing educators in their respective fields and to develop this course for you. Going forward, I am excited about the opportunity to work directly with you while supporting AAII’s mission of providing unbiased, evidence-backed investing education and tools to make you a better investor.
Both the EI Structured and EI FlexiLearn Course versions come with your single EI Course registration. Both versions can be accessed through the same straightforward four-step process. For the most optimal learning experience, please access the course using a desktop computer or laptop. Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Access the Course
To access the EI Course, you can click on the registration link in this email, log in to the AAII home page and select Classes from the My Tools menu in the top-right corner or go directly to www.aaii.com/learn.
Step 2: Log In
At the AAII Learning Center website, log in with your existing AAII member credentials or the credentials you set up when registering for the EI Course.

As you can see, the EI Course has a lot in store for individual investors just like you. Let’s explore the EI Structured and EI FlexiLearn options to find out which one best suits your learning style.
The EI Course offers two distinct paths:
EI Structured Course: This path includes over 12 hours of video content — featuring keynote speakers like Bruce Johnstone from Fidelity — and culminates in a comprehensive final exam. Successful completion grants EI Course Certification along with exclusive member benefits. This is the recommended format.
EI FlexiLearn Course: This path offers flexibility to explore the course content at your own pace, including all materials from the EI Structured Course. You can access all classes at any time. However, the FlexiLearn option does not provide EI Course Certification or the benefits that come with it (see below).
Whichever learning path you choose, you will get comprehensive education that you can use time and again throughout each life phase.
By successfully completing the EI Structured Course including passing the final exam, you will be awarded an official EI Course Certification. This is only applicable to the Structured Course, since the certification and benefits are not available with the FlexiLearn option. The certification isn’t merely a document — it’s a testament to your commitment to understanding and mastering crucial investing principles and strategies.
Certification unlocks a variety of exclusive benefits designed to further your investing education. These include:
Complementary one-year AAII membership, including AAII’s Model Shadow Stock Portfolio and the monthly AAII Journal
30 days of free access to the entire AAII Platinum subscription bundle
Exclusive access to AAII’s Active Investing Workshop webinars
Complementary access to one AAII Workshop at the AAII Investor Conference or select MoneyShow events
Complementary access to one AAII Local Chapter Meeting
Complementary access to select future released Video Education Suite (VES) Classes
Early-bird access and substantial discounts on other upcoming VES Classes
Downloadable PDF containing all the Words of Wisdom statements in the entire EI Course
