Carolyn McClanahan, M.D., CFP, is the founder of Life Planning Partners Inc., a fee-only financial planning firm in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to working in her financial planning practice, she speaks regularly on the interplay between health and financial issues, particularly regarding aging, chronic illness, end of life, long-term care, health care reform and health care costs. McClanahan serves on the CNBC Financial Advisor Council and the Investopedia Advisor Council, and is a contributing writer for multiple publications. She was awarded the Alexandra Armstrong Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Financial Services Industry by Investment News in 2024. McClanahan also volunteers as the assistant medical director for the Women’s Center of Jacksonville.
