Biography:

Jason Scott, Ph.D., is currently the managing director of J.S. Retirement Consulting. Previously, Scott spent 20 years at Financial Engines where he was the managing director of the Retiree Research Center. Financial Engines is America’s largest independent registered investment adviser working with more than 1,000,000 individual clients and managing over $160 billion in assets. The Retiree Research Center is dedicated to helping retirees plan and adjust to an uncertain retirement characterized by an unknown lifespan, unknown health level and unknown investment returns.

 

Scott has published a number of journal articles in the area of retirement economics. His research has focused on optimizing investment strategies in retirement, behavioral biases in decision making and optimal mortality-contingent insurance contracts. Scott received a B.S. in economics from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.
