Biography:
Robert Stein is the board chair and chair of the Investment Committee for the $75B State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. He has served as elected fund trustee and in various leadership roles since 2009 and holds a Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy (CAPPP) from The International Foundation for Employee Benefit Plans. Stein is a certified financial planner (CFP) and has other financial and investment training.
Stein was a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registered investment adviser, and held the National Association of Securities Dealers Series 6 & 7 licenses and the Ohio Securities License. Stein holds a B.S. and M.Ed. with specialties in education, adolescent development, counseling and computer science. Stein retired from education after 27 years teaching grades 4 through college.
Stein ran a boutique fee-for-service financial planning shop for 10 years. He has traded securities, derivatives, real estate and other markets since 1972.
