Chapter FAQs

• Local Chapters hold programs that provide speakers or panel presenting current and educational presentations. Many well-known investment experts have provided presentations at Local Chapter programs-this is an opportunity you, as an investor, would not otherwise be able to participate in.
• Ask questions of the speaker-where else do you have the opportunity to have your questions answered?
• These presentations take place either in the evening on a weeknight or on a Saturday morning typically lasting one to two hours. You can expect to meet other AAII members-this alone can be an educational experience as you share your enthusiasm for investing and discuss the speaker's presentation.

• A Chapter Program allows time for members to ask questions of the speaker, further enhancing the educational experience of a Chapter Program by providing you an opportunity to get the answers you need.

Yes, the charge is minimal—just what is needed to cover the cost of holding the program and any refreshments served. Registration fees are listed on the chapter program announcement and are intended to cover the cost of the meeting room, refreshments, or any other costs associated with holding the program. Most chapter program registration fees are between $6 and $18.

As a member of AAII, you can request to have Chapter Program announcements sent to you by mail and/or E-mail. This is a free service to members. Click here to sign up to receive all future announcements for any chapters of your choice—its Free with full AAII membership.

To view and print a chapter program announcement that includes a registration form, first locate the chapter nearest you from the list of all AAII Local Chapters (click here for the list). Once you have selected the chapter of your choice:

1. Click on the chapter name
2. Click Here provides you with a pdf copy of the latest chapter program announcement
3. Print the announcement

AAII members volunteer their time to make all the necessary arrangements for each chapter program. Each chapter has a board composed of Chapter Officers, Committee Chairpersons and SIG Leaders. These volunteers plan and implement each chapter program.

AAII Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are small gatherings sponsored by Local Chapters where members meet for general discussion or to explore a specific investment topic of interest to the group. The group leader, along with the SIG members, will work together to decide on the type of meetings the group will hold and the topic the group will study.
