iShares Mortgage Real Estate Capped ETF (REM) is a passively managed Sector Equity Real Estate exchange-traded fund (ETF). iShares launched the ETF in 2007.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the FTSE NAREIT All Mortgage Capped Index composed of U.S. real estate investment trusts ("REITs") that hold U.S. residential and commercial mortgages.
The fund generally will invest at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index and may invest up to 20% of its assets in S-2 certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The fund is non-diversified.
