Vanguard Tax-Exempt Bond ETF Overview
Vanguard Tax-Exempt Bond ETF (VTEB) is a passively managed Municipal Bond Muni National Interm exchange-traded fund (ETF). Vanguard launched the ETF in 2015.

The Target Index includes municipal bonds issued by states, local governments, or agencies whose interest is exempt from U.S. federal income taxes and the federal alternative minimum tax (AMT). Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in the bonds that make up the Target Index.

VTEB Performance and Fees

Active management normally comes with higher expense ratios than passive index management. Certain investment categories such as small company and foreign also normally have higher expense ratios. It is best to compare fund expense ratios against the category averages for meaningful assessments.

Vanguard Tax-Exempt Bond ETF has a trailing yield of 3.42%, which is below the 3.53% category average.
The fund normally distributes its income monthly.
