When is the monthly AAII Journal released?
The new AAII Journal issue is usually posted to our website on the 1st of the issue month at the AAII Journal page.
I have not yet received my print AAII Journal in the mail.
For those who pay to receive a physical copy of the AAII Journal, the print issue should be received around the 20th of each issue month. If you have not received the current issue after this time, please notify us by using the button at the end of this page.
How can I opt out of print delivery of the AAII Journal?
- Log into AAII.com
- Click on your name in the upper-right corner
- Select "My Account" from the drop-down menu
- Scroll down the list of subscriptions to the AAII Journal
- Click the "Opt Out" button to the right of AAII Journal heading
- Print status will change from "Active" to "Opted Out"
- You will still receive digital editions, with bonus features, every month
Locate an Article/Author
I’m looking for a past article.
Please use the Search tool at the top left of any AAII web page. Type in part of the article’s title or a keyword or phrase. Use quotation marks around phrases. Press Enter on your keyboard, then select See All Articles and Videos at the right to expand the list. Results will display all the articles on that specific topic by relevence. At the "Sort by" box on the upper right, change the order from Relevence to Date to bring the most recent articles on the topic to the top of the list.
I am looking for a specific past AAII Journal issue.
Please visit the AAII Journal page and use the drop-down menu on the right side of the page titled Browse by Issue. Scroll down to select the issue date you are searching for.
I want to know if you’ve covered a particular topic.
Use the Search box at the top left of any AAII web page. Type in a keyword or phrase to locate any past AAII Journal articles we’ve published on the topic. Put phrases in quotation marks for best results. Press Enter on your keyboard, then scroll down to Articles and Videos. Click on See All Articles & Videos on the right to expand the list. Results will display articles in descending order by relevence. Change the "Sort by" box in the upper-right corner from Relevence to Date to bring the most recent articles to the top.

AAII cannot give personal investing advice. Our goal is to arm you with the knowledge and tools to be able to make your own decisions.
Where can I see all the past articles for a particular year?
Go to the AAII Journal drop-down menu on AAII.com and click on Article Index under the Featured heading. Alternatively, go to the AAII Journal page and use the drop-down menu on the right side of the page titled Browse by Year and select a year.
I’d like to contact an author.
Author contact info, if supplied, is found by clicking on the author’s name under the title of the article on AAII.com. This takes you to the author page with biography, contact info and links to all AAII articles they have contributed.
A list of all contributing writers is found on the Authors page. You can also find an author by using the Search box at the top left of any AAII web page.

Submit an Article
Do you take article submissions?
The AAII Journal accepts article submissions describing or explaining investment strategies and techniques that are useful and practical to individual investors. Interested authors may want to read past articles from the AAII Journal to get a feel for the types of articles published (see the AAII Journal contact form). See below for guidelines.
What are your guidelines for submitting an article?
The suggested length for articles is 2,500–3,000 words (+/– 250 words) plus two to four charts, images and/or tables. (Our art director can spruce up charts and figures.) The content should be educational and nonpromotional. We try to keep the tone somewhere between what you would find in Money Magazine and the Journal of Finance. All key concepts, ratios and any uncommon terms should be explained since some of our members are new to investing. In general, it is better to provide too much information rather than too little, since the article can always be edited.
Bullet point article outlines are preferred over full manuscripts. Please include a written synopsis along with the outline explaining what you wish to convey in the article. In addition, please provide a biography of your relevant background.

Where is the downloadable AAII Journal PDF?
The whole issue PDF link is located next to the issue name at the top of an issue’s table of contents page. The current AAII Journal issue is featured on the AAII Journal page. To bring up a past issue’s table of contents, select the issue date from the Browse by Issue drop-down box on the right side of the page.
