Latest Pan American Silver Corp. Stock News

As of October 09, 2026, Pan American Silver Corp. had a $19.3 billion market capitalization, putting it in the 86th percentile of companies in the Metals & Mining industry.

Currently, Pan American Silver Corp.’s price-earnings ratio is 13.8. Pan American Silver Corp.’s trailing 12-month revenue is $4.3 billion with a 32.0% profit margin. Year-over-year quarterly sales growth most recently was 38.4%. Analysts expect adjusted earnings to reach $3.617 per share for the current fiscal year. Pan American Silver Corp. currently has a 1.6% dividend yield.

Our fundamental outlook for the diversified metals & mining sub-industry for the next 12 months is neutral. The demand destruction from the Covid-19 pandemic caused most base metals to suffer a significant decline in prices during the second quarter of 2020. However, a weaker U.S. dollar materialized into a long-awaited positive catalyst; coupled with a strong rebound in economic activity in China, the environment spurred a strong price recovery in most commodities. The commodity bear market that followed the great recession led to a shift in industry fundamentals from a “growth at any cost” strategy to rationalization of underperforming assets, idling capacity and undertaking corporate reorganizations in an effort to slash costs to restore balance sheet health and liquidity. As a result, most diversified miners have dramatically improved their balance sheets. All of the major diversified miners have some exposure to copper, which we think has very strong fundamentals. Copper prices have averaged $4.15 per pound year-to-date in 2021 (as of July 16), which is 48% above the full-year average in 2020 of $2.80 per pound. We attribute the surge in copper prices to China’s new infrastructure plan and to some supply disruptions at important copper mines in Latin America, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pan American Silver Corp. Stock Value Grade

Value Grade:

Metric Rank PAAS Sector Median
Price/Sales 74 4.20 1.75
Price/Earnings 35 13.8 20.0
EV/EBITDA 15 6.0 9.5
Shareholder Yield 77 (14.5%) (0.9%)
Price/Book Value 63 2.62 2.23
Price/Free Cash Flow 50 18.2 26.4

Buying stocks that are going to go up typically means buying stocks that are undervalued in the first place, although momentum investors may argue that point.

AAII’s A+ Investor Value Grade is derived from a stock’s value score. The value score is the percentile rank of the average of the percentile ranks of the price-to-sales ratio, price-earnings ratio, enterprise-value-to-EBITDA (EV/EBITDA) ratio, shareholder yield, price-to-book-value ratio and price-to-free-cash-flow ratio. The score is variable, meaning it can consider all six ratios or, should any of the six ratios not be valid, the remaining ratios that are valid. To be assigned a Value Score, stocks must have a valid (non-null) ratio and corresponding ranking for at least two of the six valuation ratios.

Stocks with a Value Score from 81 to 100 are considered deep value, those with a score between 61 and 80 are a good value and so on.

Pan American Silver Corp. has a Value Score of 42, which is Average.

Pan American Silver Corp. Stock Growth Grade

Growth Grade:

Metric Metric Score PAAS Sector Median
Sales Growth 5yr Ann'l 40 22.0% 5.8%
Sales Increases YoY Last 5 yrs 80 4 of 5 3 of 5
Cash from Operations Ann'l Positive Last 5 yrs 100 5 of 5 5 of 5

The foundation of growth investing is seeking out stocks of companies exhibiting strong, consistent and prolonged growth that is expected to continue into the future.

In order to compute the Growth Score and assign it a letter grade, the percentile ranks for each of the three individual components‐consistency of annual sales growth, five‐year sales growth rankings adjusted for extreme levels, and consistency of positive annual cash from operations‐must be determined. These three rank figures are added together, and the sum is ranked against the entire stock universe to arrive at a company’s Growth Score to create an equal distribution of grades.

The companies in the bottom 20% of the stock universe receive Growth Grades of F, considered Very Weak, while those in the top 20% receive A grades, which are considered Very Strong.

Pan American Silver Corp. has a Growth Score of 59, which is Average.

Pan American Silver Corp. Stock Quality Grade

Quality Grade:

Metric Score PAAS Sector Median
Return on Assets (ROA) 93 15.8% 1.7%
Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) 71 27.2% 15.6%
Gross Income to Assets 63 23.7% 16.5%

Accruals to Assets 38 (3.0%) (5.4%)
Z Double Prime Bankruptcy Risk (Z) Score 79 8.39 6.84
F-Score 81 7 4

Like the Value Grade, AAII’s A+ Investor Quality Grade comes from the percentile rank of key metrics. Specifically, the Quality Grade is the percentile rank of the average of the percentile ranks of return on assets (ROA), return on invested capital (ROIC), gross profit relative to assets, buyback yield, change in total liabilities to assets, accruals, Z double prime bankruptcy risk (Z) score and F-Score.

The score is variable, meaning it can consider all eight measures or, should any of the eight measures not be valid, the remaining measures that are valid. To be assigned a Quality Score, stocks must have a valid (non-null) measure and corresponding ranking for at least four of the eight quality measures.

The Quality Score is used to assess the underlying “quality” of a particular stock. A higher quality stock possesses traits associated with upside potential and reduced downside risk. Backtesting of the Quality Grade shows that stocks with higher grades, on average, outperformed stocks with lower grades over the period of 1998 through 2019.

Stocks receive better grades (higher scores) for having higher scores for the quality subcomponents and worse grades (lower scores) for lower scores for the subcomponents.

Pan American Silver Corp. has a Quality Score of 75, which is Strong.

Pan American Silver Corp. Stock Momentum Grade

Momentum Grade:

Metric Score PAAS Sector Median
Relative Price Strength (Q1) 72 2.7% (5.5%)
Relative Price Strength (Q2) 15 (30.6%) (17.0%)
Relative Price Strength (Q3) 63 6.7% 3.1%
Relative Price Strength (Q4) 94 36.2% 5.9%
Relative Price Strength (weighted 4 qtr) 73 3.5% (0.5%)

Momentum grades help uncover stocks experiencing anomalously high rates of return; research finds that stocks with high relative levels of momentum tend to outperform, whereas those with low levels of momentum tend to continue underperforming. Momentum is based on the price change of a stock over a specified period relative to all other stocks.

Typically, AAII looks at the weighted relative strength over the trailing four quarters. The weighted four-quarter relative strength rank is the relative price change for each of the past four quarters. The most recent quarterly price change is given a weight of 40% and each of the three previous quarters are given a weighting of 20%.

Pan American Silver Corp. has a Momentum Score of 73, which is Strong.

EPS Est Current Year % Rev Last Month 12 (2.0%) 0.0%
EPS Est Current Year % Rev 3 Mos 16 (14.8%) (3.5%)

The Earnings Estimate Revisions Score considers the magnitude of a company’s earnings surprise in its last two reported fiscal quarters. Often, positive surprises beget further positive surprises‐or at least continued sales growth (the exact opposite is generally true, too).

Estimate revisions offer an indication of what analysts are thinking about the short-term prospects of a firm. The Earnings Estimate Revisions Score is based on the statistical significance of a firm’s last two quarterly earnings surprises and the percentage change in its consensus estimate for the current fiscal year over the past month and past three months.

Pan American Silver Corp. has an Earnings Estimate Revisions Score of 18, which is Very Negative.
