The AAII Los Angeles Chapter presents 10 programs each year, featuring two speakers at every event—for a total of 20 speakers annually. Seven programs are webinar-only, while three are presented both in person and via livestream.

Our webinar format allows us to invite nationally recognized experts from anywhere in the country for our seven webinar-only events. We also host insightful Southern California speakers for our live events, which are livestreamed, about six times per year.

How do we recruit such a diverse lineup to speak to AAII members? We regularly monitor Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business, YouTube interviews and financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal to identify potential speakers. Once we find someone of interest, we research them on LinkedIn for mutual connections and review their company’s website.

If we share a contact, we reference that relationship in our invitation. We also share our upcoming speaker schedule—typically booked five to six months in advance—to demonstrate the quality and credibility of our programs. Our success rate in securing leading Wall Street executives and financial experts is approximately 50%.

In recent years, we’ve welcomed distinguished speakers such as Howard Marks, Ken Fisher, Sébastien Page, Wade Pfau and Christine Benz.
