Field Notes From the Chapters

Decades ago, as a very junior investment banker, I worked on a finance project in West Virginia. A sympathetic client sent me a series of “exotic” local postal covers. Someday, my heirs will stumble upon envelopes from Peapatch and Cucumber, West Virginia, and wonder. Just like my siblings and I wondered about the large bag of adult human teeth we found, postmortem, in our genteel mother’s sock drawer—NOT a treasured memento!

If you live in Peapatch or Cucumber, your nearest AAII chapter meeting might be in Pittsburgh (Bryan Armour on ETFs), or perhaps Research Triangle (Mark Skousen on post-midterm investing) or Greensboro (John Simms on Federal Reserve policy). The drive, while scenic, would be obviated by listening to webinars online from any of the 16 chapters that livestream or webcast. Check out the upcoming chapter meetings at https://community.aaii.com/events/calendar.

If you’d like to honor a new graduate, we suggest giving the gift of AAII membership. It’s a gift that will be treasured, won’t languish in a sock drawer and will cement your legacy without Fixodent. Go to www.aaii.com/gift for details. And ... Yo, Mom! THANK YOU for introducing me to AAII. I’m still here. But ’scusi, we tossed the teeth.
