The SEIDIO Desktop Charging Cradle for USB smartphones does exactly what it is designed to do.
The SEIDO Desktop Charging Cradle holds the phone upright and charges it in a reasonable time. It allows flawless syncing to a computer without any problems. The cradle also has a minimal footprint, taking up very little space on the desk.
Using the cradle for the first time is a bit awkward. The phone needs to be placed downward directly onto the USB connector. It took about a week to get the movement down, but after that, it is easy to use.
{{"object":2592,"classes":"object-type icon-img left"}}The cradle only works with USB smartphones (models are available for Blackberry, Treo, iPhone, HTC and Samsung). The model I reviewed was for HTC phones, but I was able to attach it to the new Samsung Galaxy S III. However, the USB port on the HTC EVO 4G—and likely other HTC phones—is backward from those used on devices from other manufacturers. This means that the Galaxy S III faces away from the raised backing on the cradle, which is designed to keep the phone upright. I noticed the same thing when I attached smartphones made by Motorola and LG. So, be sure you get the model specific to your device.
A small light turns green when the phone is fully charged. The light is tiny, however, and easy to overlook. On the other hand, it is not distracting either.
A micro-USB cable is included.
Pros:
- Small footprint
$29.95 for HTC model (prices range from $29.95 to $39.95 depending on model)
