AAII Live Town Hall Event With the SEC
by AAII Staff | April 21, 2020
Join AAII in hearing comments from U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Jay Clayton and education director Lori Schock as they field questions from AAII members LIVE!
The SEC is an independent agency tasked with protecting investors and overseeing the securities markets. Their website, Investor.gov, has free tools and unbiased information to help you make informed investing decisions and avoid scams. If you have questions about regulation and fraud protection regarding the markets, public companies or investment professionals, this unique webinar is the place to get answers.
Jay Clayton was nominated to chair the SEC on January 20, 2017, by President Trump and sworn in on May 4, 2017. During his tenure, the SEC has focused on furthering the interests of America’s Main Street investors, updating and enhancing the regulation and oversight of equity and fixed-income markets, and making American capital markets more accessible to both businesses and investors.
Lori J. Schock, director of the Office of Investor Education and Advocacy at the SEC, has served since 2009 as the director of the SEC Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA)—the SEC’s champion in providing America’s investors with the tools and information they need to make wise investment decisions and avoid fraud.
Don’t miss your chance to interact with the head of the SEC in our second AAII Town Hall.
