Investors Currently Favor Technology, Health Care and Financials

by AAII Staff | October 15, 2020

In this week’s Sentiment Survey special question, we asked AAII members what industries or sectors they think are attractive buying opportunities in the current market environment. Some of the respondents gave more than one answer.

About 22% of respondents say that they think the technology sector has attractive buying opportunities. This compares to 12% of respondents who say the heath care sector and 16% of respondents who name financials and banks. In addition, 10% of respondents name energy, 7% of respondents name industrials, 6% of respondents say basic materials and gold and 4% of respondents name utilities.

I have been invited to put 10 symbols in the EvML portfolio, but I just joined AAII and don't really have any idea which 10 are any good by the evaluation criteria or even able to be researched by the AAII system. And I am not sure the A+ extra uses the same system as is used for the standard portfolio that comes with the beginning AAII subscription. So why not change my portfolio to be the 10 best that the A+ system would suggest for me so I can get a better feel for whether or not I want to add that feature? Please do that for me if you can.

Many years ago the Piotrosky (sp?) system was the best profit generator. Is that still the top performer? If so, how close is it to the AAII standard or lowest level portfolio?
