The new A+ Stock Grades system is a stock-grading tool based on percentile rankings of multiple key metrics within five quant factors: value, growth, momentum, estimate revisions and quality. They represent a summary of a company's fundamentals and give you a quick overview of how a stock rates based on five investment factors that have been shown to produce market-beating results.
Not only do you get a letter grade for each of the five investment factors, but you can also see the percentile rankings of the underlying data points for each grade. Also, we provide main competitors and their letter grades. These grades are calculated and updated daily.
Darling Ingredients Inc. (DAR) Competitors
Companies similar to Darling Ingredients Inc. in the Food Products industry.
The Value Score is the percentile rank of the average of the percentile ranks of the price-to-sales ratio, price-earnings ratio, enterprise-value-to-EBITDA (EV/EBITDA) ratio, shareholder yield, price-to-book-value ratio and price-to-free-cash-flow ratio. The components of the Growth Composite Score consider a company's success in growing sales on a year‐over‐year (YoY) and long(er)‐term annualized basis and its ability to consistently generate positive cash from its core operations.
The Five-Year Sales Growth Score looks at a company's percentile ranking for its annualized growth in sales over the past five years. The sales of Darling Ingredients Inc. have been growing by an average of 11.4% a year over the last five years. This ranks in the 80th percentile among all U.S.‐listed stocks.
The Five‐Year Sales Growth Score awards higher weightings for five‐year sales growth that ranks in the middle 60% of the stock universe, while lower weightings are awarded to those companies at the extremes—either too high or too low. The weightings for all companies in the stock universe are then ranked.
Darling Ingredients Inc.'s five‐year average annual sales growth rank of 80 translates into a Five‐Year Sales Growth Score of 80.
Darling Ingredients Inc. has seen its sales increase year over year for 4 out of the past five fiscal years.
This translates into a Year-Over-Year Sales Increases Score of 80.
The Year-Over-Year Sales Increases Score is based on a company's historical record of generating year-over-year increases in sales. A weighting of zero (0) is awarded when there have been no annual increases in sales over the past five years. At the same time, a weighting of 100 is awarded when a company has seen its sales increase in each of the past five years. The weightings for all companies in the stock universe are then ranked.
Darling Ingredients Inc. has generated positive annual cash from operations in 5 out of the past five fiscal years.
This translates into a Five-Year Positive Cash From Operations Score of 100.
The Five-Year Positive Cash From Operations Score is based on a company's historical record of generating positive cash from operations on an annual basis. A weighting of zero (0) is awarded when there have been no fiscal years of positive cash from operations over the past five years. At the same time, a weighting of 100 is awarded when a company has generated positive cash from operations for each of the past five fiscal years. The weightings for all companies in the stock universe are then ranked.
To arrive at the Growth Composite Score, the ranks of these three scores are added together, and the sum is ranked against the entire stock universe.
The sum of the three scores for Darling Ingredients Inc. is 260. This, in turn, ranks in the 83rd percentile among all U.S.-listed scores.
This Growth Composite Score translates into a Growth Grade of A for Very Strong.

The Quality Grade is the percentile rank of the average of the percentile ranks of the return on assets (ROA), return on invested capital (ROIC), gross profit relative to assets, buyback yield, change in total liabilities to assets,
accruals, Z Double Prime bankruptcy risk (Z) score and F-Score. The score is variable, meaning it can consider all eight measures or,
should any of the eight measures not be valid, the remaining measures that are valid. To be assigned a Quality Score, stocks
must have a valid (non-null) measure and corresponding ranking for at least four of the eight quality measures.
The Quality Score is used to assess the “quality” of a particular stock. A higher quality stock possesses traits associated with upside potential and reduced downside risk.
Stocks receive better grades (higher scores) for having higher scores for the quality sub-components and worse grades (lower scores) for lower scores for the sub-components.
