AAII Contrarian Sentiment Indicator
A market signal that suggests acting opposite to prevailing investor sentiment. For example, extremely high bullish sentiment may imply that most buying has already occurred, signaling a potential downturn. Likewise, extreme bearish sentiment may point to an oversold market poised for recovery. Contrarian investors use sentiment extremes as opportunities to take positions against the crowd.
