Stock of large, well-known companies with a history of growth and dividend paying and that offer quality management, products and services. AAII’s Weiss Blue Chip Dividend Yield screen based on investment adviser Geraldine Weiss’ stock-picking approach uses six criteria as a starting point to identify high-quality companies: Dividends have been paid for the past seven fiscal years, with a minimum of three increases and no decreases; earnings have improved in at least four of the last seven years; shares outstanding number at least five million; shares must be held by at least 80 institutions.
