dividend discount model

A formula for stock investors that calculates the present value of a stock's future expected dividends to arrive at an estimate of its intrinsic value. The formula multiplies last year's dividend by one plus the annual dividend growth rate and then divides that product by a discount rate minus the stock's dividend growth rate.
