liquidity

The ability to quickly buy and sell securities without significantly affecting their market prices. Liquidity declines when it is harder to make a trade due to an imbalance in the number of buyers and sellers, or because of price volatility. A security that can’t be bought or sold without a major change in market price is described as illiquid.
