New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

An auction market for the trading of stocks. An auction market uses specialists that match buyers with sellers. The NYSE is the largest stock exchange in the world. To be listed in the NYSE, a company must have issued at least a million shares of stock worth $100 million and must have earned more than $10 million over the last three years.
