technical analysis

A type of stock analysis using market price data and volume data, typically displayed graphically in charts. The charts are analyzed using technical indicators. Basic concepts are applied to charts, including relative strength analysis, trend, consolidation and support and resistance. Identifying the trend is a large part of technical analysis, as is identifying chart patterns.
