Derek Hageman

Biography:
Derek J. Hageman was a financial analyst at AAII. He was editor of the AAII Dividend Investing (DI) service from 2019 to 2023. He contributed countless stock analysis and screening articles for the AAII Journal and AAII’s weekly Stock Ideas email series. Hageman also served on the Stock Superstars Report (SSR) and VMQ Stocks committees and presented at AAII conferences and webinars.

Hageman earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and French from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and an MBA from the University of Denver. He was a Level III Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Candidate and analyzed both publicly traded and privately held companies. His experience included working as an equity analyst at a long/short value investment firm, real estate investment manager for a family office and a senior associate at a private equity firm. He started his career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, West Africa.
