Frequently Asked Questions
Commonly-asked questions about AAII membership.
Why is AAII better than offerings from my brokerage?
Unlike brokerages, AAII does not sell you specific stocks or get you to trade for commission's sake. We have no ulterior motive in our offerings. Our educational material comes from industry-leading analysts and covers a lifetime of successful investing. Developed tools, stock ideas and research aren't produced by a sales teams trying to increase your activity. They're built by and for individual investors so you can have the confidence to find the right investment for your portfolio at any given time.
Does AAII upsell to premium newsletters?
AAII offers a variety of premium newsletters for an additional cost that explore specific investing approaches. These newsletters offer investors model portfolios, watchlists, weekly commentary and detailed yet actionable monthly reports to help them master a corner of the market. Since we dedicate so many resources between our tech and analysis teams to these products, these newsletters supplement regular membership and cannot be included in it.
What is AAII's long-term vision?
AAII is committed to improving our membership and supplemental products to continue giving individual investors an edge in the market. We are continually working on tool enhancements, new screens, better model portfolio rules and many more projects to empower our members as market and trading conditions evolve.
Why should I trust AAII?
Unlike many of our competitors, AAII is a nonprofit educational publisher. We receive no broker fees or kickbacks. Our revenue comes from our members and our members will only stay with us if we provide them with powerful tools, useful education and promising ideas. AAII does not sell get-rich-quick schemes or ensure investment riches beyond your wildest dreams. We remain grounded in a long-term approach proven by research and time.
Why does AAII charge for membership?
AAII charges for membership because we do not have outside sources of revenue. Members join an Association committed to them; the minimal annual fee maintains our research staff, which enables our products and tool development.
