Biography:

Lloyd E. Shefsky is a clinical professor of family enterprises, co-director of the Center for Family Enterprises at the Kellogg School of Management and has taught in several countries. He previously served on the Board of Cyrene (formerly Commtouch) and continues to serve on the boards of American Association of Industrial Investors and few privately owned companies. In 1970, he founded the Chicago law firm, Shefsky & Froelich Ltd., where has been Of Counsel since 1996. In 2014, the firm merged with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where Shefsky continues to serve Of Counsel. For several decades he served as legal counsel to the State of Israel and has represented and advised, as counsel and later as business consultant, hundreds of entrepreneurs and their companies, including numerous Israeli companies with U.S. operations.

Shefsky authored “Entrepreneurs Are Made Not Born” (McGraw-Hill, 1994), a best-seller which was translated into five foreign languages. In 2014 he authored “Invent Reinvent Thrive” (McGraw Hill, 2014). He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and a B.Sc. from De Paul University (accounting). He is a member of the Illinois and Florida Bars, and has a CPA certificate in Illinois.
