Biography:
Moshe Milevsky is a tenured finance professor at York University in Toronto. He is also executive director of The IFID (pronounced EYE-FID) Centre and president and CEO of the QWeMA (pronounced KWEE-MA) Group. Milevsky has lectured and given seminars at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, the London School of Economics (UK), University of New South Wales (Australia), ORT University in Montevideo (Uruguay), University of Cyprus, and University of Leuven (Belgium). Milevsky has consulted for many global insurance companies, banks, mutual fund companies, state pension plans and regulators in both North and South America. He has published eight books, over 60 peer-reviewed papers and 200 popular magazine and newspaper articles on the topics of insurance, investments, pensions, retirement and annuities.
In the summer of 2002, Milevsky was elected a Fellow of the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences. In 2003, he received two National Magazine (Canada) awards for his popular writing. He received a Graham and Dodd scroll award from the CFA Institute for a 2006 article in the Financial Analysts Journal. In fall 2008, he was honored by the Retirement Income Industry Association (RIIA) with a lifetime achievement award for applied research. In May 2009, Investment Advisor magazine named him to their IA25 list of the most influential people in the financial advisory business, and Investment News magazine selected him as one of the 20 people to watch in 2010. Milevsky’s most recent book, “Pensionize Your Nest Egg: How to Use Product Allocation to Guarantee a Lifetime Income,” was published in September 2010 by John Wiley & Sons.
