Biography:
From 1964 to 1968, Walter Weil was a security analyst at Lehman Brothers. From 1968 to 1973, he was a general partner at Strand and Company, one of fewer than 10 hedge funds then in existence. After a year of option hedging at Weiss, Peck & Greer, Weil spent four years managing money at Oppenheimer & Co. He left to form Delta Options Inc., which engaged in option hedging on the Amex and CBOE. In 1984, Weil joined the firm founded by Kenneth S. Davidson that would become Davidson Weil Associates, where he was a managing partner. He retired in 1995 and has since managed his family’s financial assets. Weil graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Business School. He is the author of the e-book, "PYWRITE: A Contrarian's Approach to Investing" (October, 2016).
