The Retirement Calculator section requires you to log in, but creating an account is very easy and free. Once you’re logged in you can begin using the retirement calculator. There are three separate tabs that need to be filled out: basic information, assets and income and expenses and debt. After you complete the steps, NewRetirement creates a retirement plan for you. If you want to “improve” your plan, discover how it impacts your future or try different scenarios, the tool allows you to do that. Based on your current age, the tool tells you how much you need to save to retire using optimistic and pessimistic assumptions. Other tools such as a Social Security calculator, retirement plan asset allocation tool, reverse mortgage suitability test, rollover calculator, annuity calculator, or annuity suitability test are located in the Retirement Services section.
The Retirement Strategies section provides viewers with information on a wide range of topics including retirement planning and investment, housing and home equity, retirement and income expenses or retirement health care. There are subcategories displayed underneath the general topics, and the page is easy to understand.
