This month, we present the stocks in the A+ Investor universe that are passing the most AAII Stock Screens. Whether you’re a buy-and-hold investor or a more active trader, periodically scanning your holdings and watchlists is beneficial. It helps you see how your current investments align with your strategy and spot promising opportunities for deploying excess cash.
A+ Investor provides a robust platform for tracking which of your stocks are passing AAII’s Stock Screens. This tool also allows you to monitor stocks across the entire universe that meet the criteria of multiple AAII screens.
On the AAII website, click the My Tools drop-down menu at the top-right corner of any page and choose My Stock Screens from the list. Here, you can view the latest results for your favorited AAII Stock Screens, check A+ Stock Grades for the strategies you follow and see the individual companies currently passing these screens. Additionally, you can evaluate the performance of your favorite screens over different periods.
The My Screens area offers five tabs: Stocks Passing My Screens, Grades, Performance, My Stocks Passing Any Screens and Stocks Passing Multiple Screens. Two tabs we wish to focus on are:
1. My Stocks Passing Any Screens: This tab displays stocks in portfolios you have created in My Portfolio that pass any AAII Stock Screen as of the previous trading day. For instance, as of June 18, 2024, PulteGroup Inc.
(PHM)—a holding in the Stock Superstars Report (SSR) Group 4 Neff portfolio—met the criteria of five AAII Stock Screens: Buffett Hagstrom, Buffettology EPS Growth, Buffettology Sustainable Growth, Dreman With Estimate Revisions and O’Neil’s CAN SLIM No Float. A yellow star next to a screen name indicates that you have marked it as a favorite. In this case, the Dreman With Estimate Revisions screen is a favorite of mine. You can favorite a screen by clicking the unfilled star. Stocks passing your favorite screens appear on the Stocks Passing My Screens tab.
2. Stocks Passing Multiple Screens: This tab lists all stocks in the AAII database (approximately 6,700) that pass at least one AAII screen. As of June 18, 2024, 868 passed at least one AAII Stock Screen. Of these, 232 passed two or more screens, 75 passed at least three and 19 passed four or more. Brightview Holdings Inc.
(BV), Commercial Metals Co.
(CMC), Carvana Co.
(CVNA), Mueller Industries Inc.
(MLI), PulteGroup and Shoe Carnival Inc.
(SCVL) notably passed five screens each. The default view ranks stocks by the number of screens they pass. You can adjust the minimum number of screens required using the drop-down box at the top-left corner.
Clicking on a stock’s ticker in the My Stocks Passing Any Screens tab takes you to the Stock Evaluator page, where you can access detailed A+ Stock Grades analysis, charts, growth rates, ratios, analyst ratings, earnings estimates data, detailed financial statement data, insider trading information and company filings.
From the Stocks Passing Any Screens tab, you can also add a stock to an existing or new portfolio within My Portfolio. To add a stock to an existing or new portfolio, click the yellow “+” next to the company name. A pop-up box will confirm if the stock is already in one of your portfolios. If not, you can select from a list of your existing portfolios or name and create a new portfolio.
